Privacy Policy

This page explains what data So Many Questions… (operated by Kendall Guillemette) collects when you visit this site or sign up for updates, and what your options are.

Analytics

This site uses Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics 4. That sets a small number of cookies used to understand which pages and episodes people find useful, so we know what to make more of. It does not sell or share this data with advertisers, and we don’t run any ad pixels or retargeting on this site.

CookiePurposeDuration
_gaDistinguishes visitors~2 years
_ga_<container-id>Persists session state~2 years

(These are the standard Google Analytics 4 cookie names. The exact set is set by the Google Tag Manager container rather than this codebase directly, so treat this table as representative rather than exhaustive.)

If you’re visiting from the EU, UK, or Switzerland, analytics cookies are off by default. You’ll see a small banner at the bottom of the page asking for your consent before anything is set. You can change your answer at any time by clearing your browser’s local storage for this site and reloading. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as a decline automatically and skip the banner.

Video embeds

Episode and question pages embed YouTube videos using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced (youtube-nocookie.com) domain. This means YouTube doesn’t set tracking cookies just from the embed being on the page, only if and when you choose to press play.

Newsletter

If you sign up for show updates, your email address is sent directly to our email provider, Loops, to manage the mailing list and send you updates. We only use it to send you news about the show, and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.

A short timestamp is also saved in your browser’s local storage when you submit the form. That’s just to prevent accidental double-submissions, it isn’t used for tracking and isn’t sent anywhere.

Your rights

If you’re in the EU, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to ask what data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how it’s processed. To make any of these requests, email somanyquestionsshow@gmail.com.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
